The terms FUTSAL is the international term used for the game. It is derived from the Spanish or Portuguese word for .soccer., FUTbo, FUTebol and the French or Spanish word for indoor, Salon or SALa. Futsal is a 5-a-side version of soccer that is played indoors on a variety of surfaces.

The origin of futsal can be traced back to Montevideo, Uruguay in 1930 when Juan Carlos Ceriani devised a five a side version of soccer for youth competition in YMCA.s. Because the sports is a great skill developer, demanding quick reflexes, fast thinking and pin point passing, its an exciting game for children as well as adults. Great soccer superstar such as Pele, Zico and Ronaldo grew up playing the game and credit Futsal for developing their skills. Futsal is played with a special, low bounce ball, necessitating players to use their skills, rather than the ball.s bounce to propel it.

A summary of FIFA's Futsal Laws of the Game

This is a summary of FIFA's "Laws of the Game for Futsal (Indoor Football)". Their specificity is due at the same time to their sole made up mainly of rubber resin, allowing a significant adherence on all types of surface, like with the reinforcement of the end of the shoe, often used on the kicks stopped and shootings with the goal. It is smaller than the traditional soccer ball (size 3 for less than thirteen years, cuts 4 for the seniors) and rebounds very little. Futsal ball are specific because they allow, of share their weak rebound (due to a low pressure and several layers between the room and surface), to allow a play on the ground, more technical. The surface of the futsal ball is also rougher, in order to offer a better adherence in contact with the shoe.
The control of this futsal ball can be done only with a little experiment and practice on the surfaces varied, which offer, in addition to the particular behavior of this balloon, of the significant variations, according to whether one plays on parquet floor or a synthetic surface, or on the concrete.

Some people are still getting it wrong when comparing a futsal ball with the outdoor or normal soccer ball. The futsal ball is not heavier. It's the same weight as the outdoor ball, and, for international play, is only one size smaller in circumference.

The futsal ball is designed to have 30 percent less bounce, but its weight is actually the same as the outdoor ball or normal football ball. The outdoor ball is a size five and has a weight of between 410 and 450 grams. The futsal ball is a size four and has a weight of 400 to 440 grams. The guard is known as "flying", it can leave his surface and take part in the play, like any player.

The replacements are unlimited, and can be made at any time play. One can change all a "line" of four players or change one player.

A guard can be also made replace by any player during the part. This solution is often used in last end, when a team loses with the score, and that she wants to return.

OFFICIAL FUTSAL RULES

Download PDF format
The Playing Court
1.
